The ISGC conducts cooperative research for both Iowa and national industry. Funds and support for research are provided by the ISGC to ensure the continued quality and relevance of Iowa's research. ISGC research is bringing the U.S. space program home to Iowa.

The ISGC is dedicated to promoting education, research, and outreach in all aeronautics and space-related fields. The best in Iowa industry, government, and education are combined by the ISGC to fulfill the education and research needs of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Moon Image ...for scholarships and fellowships

Graduate, undergraduate and high school students can benefit financially from ISGC funding to faculty and researchers at member universities. With this support, the ISGC provides opportunities for students that would otherwise be unavailable.

...for higher education

Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa formed the ISGC in 1990. Today, joined by Drake University, students and faculty at these institutions work together on science, mathematics and technological projects that utilize the combined strengths of each university.

NASA's X-29 single-engine aircraft ...for youth

The ISGC conducts educational activities for Kindergarten through 12th grades to promote a strong science, math, and technology base. Activities are designed to broaden the knowledge of both students and teachers. ISU's Extension-Science, Engineering and Technology Youth Initiative (E-SET) collaborates with the ISGC to provide professional development opportunities, curriculum resources and consultation in programming for youth.

Community outreach is a vital part of the ISGC. Outreach activities include the Fly Iowa Aviation Fair, and various other presentations around the state. Iowa Public Television broadcasts are also sponsored to educate the public about the ISGC, aeronautics, and other space related topics.
