Program to Outer Space!
A treasure trove of aerospace-related resources for students in grades K-8 is available for the asking at your
local ISU county extension office. The materials are provided statewide through a university program called
E-SET
(Extension - Science, Engineering and Technology). Its website has detailed information about the program and the wide variety of resources available.
Other sources of educational materials, including videotapes, computer software, posters, lithographs and curricula, are available from NASA, the NASA education website, and NASA CORE (Central Operations of Resources for Educators), which can also be reached at 440-774-1051.
You might consider the following resources for your Cosmic Connections program. They are among the many that can be checked out or purchased at your
local ISU county extension office:

National
4-H Aerospace Curriculum: Grades K-12. Youth activity books with a variety of flight and space activities.

Robotix Roving on Mars: Checkout kit and curriculum for grades 6-8. Students design, build and program robots to explore the surface of Mars.

Rockets Away!:
Checkout kit, including launchers, and curriculum for grades 5-12. Activities on the basic concepts of rocketry and information on how to design and launch a 2-liter pop bottle rocket.

Toys in Space:
Checkout kit and curriculum for grades 2-12. Students play with toys, observing how they perform on Earth. Then they predict how the same toys would perform in the microgravity of space. A videotape of the astronauts playing with the toys in space lets students judge the accuracy of their predictions.

Exploring the Universe: K-12. Checkout resource kit contains a telescope, star finders and a variety of activity and resource
books related to astronomy.

PC's in Space: Grades 3-8. Interactive computer software on exploring the Earth from space, exploring the solar system, exploring the universe, and the Hubble Space Telescope is available for free download from the
E-SET website.
