announces the winners of:

The Fifth Annual Space Week Science Challenge
October 4-10, 2004


CONGRATULATIONS TO:

The 1st Grade Class
at New Park Elementary School, Harlan, Iowa
Teacher: Mrs. Becky Chipman

Mrs. Chipman and her classroom received:

  • Orion StarMax 90 EQ telescope
  • Garmin e-TREX GPS receiver
  • a trip to the Science Center of Iowa in Des Moines

    The teachers at New Park Elementary School received:

  • an inservice training session from the
        Extension - Science Engineering and Technology (E-SET) team
        along with a load of great curriculum materials, posters, etc.

    BUT THAT'S NOT ALL.....

    This year, we are also awarding a Meade ETX 70 telescope to the top classroom entry for categories 4-8 AND 9-12!!

    CONGRATULATIONS TO:

    The 7th Grade Earth Science class of Ms. Traci Main
    at Moravia Middle School, Moravia, Iowa

    AND

    The 9th Grade Earth Science (8th Period) class of Mr. Steve Koopmann
    at Bennett Community School, Bennett, Iowa

    BUT WAIT, WE ARE STILL NOT DONE!

    Each and every teacher who submitted an entry received a TiViTz Game from TiViTz as an appreciation gift from the ISGC for participation in our Challenge.

    We had a total of 34 participants this year.
